    The PSA Education group is made up of volunteers who spend hours of their time:
    • writing and teaching online classes;
    • mentoring members with regard to their photographs;
    • consulting with members on participation in PSA activities such as exhibitions and honors recognition;

    PSA recognizes those who contribute their knowledge to the members by awarding them with points for each course taught, member helped or webinar created. Points are awarded automatically to an instructor when a member successfully completes the requirements for the course. For all other points, the member must complete an application and send it to the Education Star Director.

      The points given lead to Education Stars. A Bronze Star is awarded when 200 points, 400 points, 600 points, and 800 points are earned. The Bronze Stars may be mailed to the member or to a club, council, or Chapter official for presentation to the PSA member. The four levels of Silver Stars are awarded after an additional 300 points per star. Gold Stars are awarded after an additional 500 points for each level. Plaques will be presented at the Platinum level, which are earned with an additional 1000 points for each level.

      Education Star recipients will be posted on the website as well as in the PSA Who’s Who in Photography.
