Hadfield, Sir Robert Abbot

English metallurgist (1859-1940)
Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, he linked the advancement of metallurgy with that of industry.
He invented the method of producing stainless steel, siliceous and manganese steel, and he has valuable studies in ferrous alloys.

⏹ Hadley, John Hadley,

English astronomer and inventor (1682-1744)
Hadley is credited with inventing a machine similar to the sixtant, which was used by Arab astronomers and geographers in the Middle Ages.
Hadley used his instrument to measure the angular height of celestial bodies in order to determine the geographical locations on the surface of the sea. And he had dubbed it the price Octant. Another invention known to him is the quarant and bears the name of Hadley. He also has a reflective telescope of outstanding practical importance, which is considered one of the first astronomical telescopes.

⏹ Har Greaves, James and Hargreaves

English inventor (1720 - 1778)
He has many inventions in spinning machines. He would not have been able to register some of his inventions in his name because he was selling the inventions before he registered them • Hagreaves met with troubles from the angry workers on the spinning machines, forcing him to leave his town and go to Nottingham, during the industrial revolution.

American inventor (1819 - 1867)
Hao seemed mechanically simple in his life. He invented the sewing machine and it took him five years to design it. And he had competitors who imitated Howe was able to outperform them thanks to his originality and his ability to innovate (compare with Singer). Thanks to his invention of the sewing machine, he made a huge fortune.

American inventor (1857 - 1925)
Heinz worked with steel alloys, using tungsten, chromium, molybdenum, and cobalt, and he patented stainless steel (compare with Hadfield of England).

⏹ Hipparchos

Greek astronomer (160-125 B.C.E.)
Hipparcos discovered the accuracy of the Earth's annual equinoxes. He made an illustrated dictionary of more than a thousand stars and planets, and he also developed trigonometry. He developed a method for determining the location on Earth by giving the coordinates of latitude and longitude to it.
Hipparcus invented the astrolabe used in astronomical observations.

Herson was famous for making high-precision watches. He invented the pendulum, consisting of iron rods and a copper one, fixed in an opposite position, so that the expansion of one of the two groups eliminates the effect of the expansion of the other group.
